SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Please observe the following safety instructions and carry out all installation steps carefully and completely, as failure to do so may result in damage to materials, property and personal injury. Installation must only be carried out by specialist workshops!
2. First check whether the mats can be installed as follows:
a) Installation is difficult or impossible on seats with glued covers.
b) Installation is not possible on seats with longitudinal grooves.
c) Installation is not possible on seats with a centre rail less than 270 mm wide, as the edges must end before the side longitudinal grooves.
3. Observe the vehicle manufacturer's instructions if seat occupancy detection is present!
4. Observe the vehicle manufacturer's instructions if belt tensioners are present!
5. Observe the vehicle manufacturer's instructions if side airbags are present in the seat backrest!
a) Seat covers and seams must not be altered.
b) Heating mats may only be applied to the centre section of the foam padding.
6. Use the vehicle's wiring diagram to ensure that the electrical system and cable cross-sections are suitable for the additional current loads.
7. Check whether there is a suitable place to install the switches.
8. Only use the original components included in the scope of delivery!
9. The heating elements must not be shortened in width. Longitudinal cuts are not permitted. Narrow cross-cuts are possible, as is shortening the mat at the end opposite the cable! (Fig. 1)
10. The heating mats can be laid through the cross-cuts in the foam padding, but the edges of a cross-cut must end before the cross-cuts.
11. The carbon fibres must not come into contact with electrically conductive components such as upholstery clips or seat frames. Insulate cut-out edges with fabric adhesive tape.
12. The electrodes must not be damaged during cross-cutouts. Maintain a minimum distance of 40 mm from the side edge. (Fig. 2)
13. The carbon fibres, which usually protrude a few millimetres from the sides of the mats, must not come into contact with electrically conductive components under any circumstances. Contact with tensioning wires in the compressed state must also be avoided!
14. The heating elements must be securely fixed (e.g. with suitable spray adhesive) and installed without creases, as otherwise there is a risk of fire!
15. Ensure that the heating elements are not damaged during installation. Possible causes include upholstery clips, auxiliary tools or sharp-edged seat frames.
16. When bonding the heating elements, the moulded part must be free of silicone, grease and dust. Full adhesive strength is achieved by applying sufficient pressure and allowing sufficient time for the adhesive to take effect. This normally takes a few hours. A fully installed heating element must not be removed and reinstalled.
17. When laying and securing the cables correctly, also ensure that the seat can be moved easily in the guide rails!
18. Avoid contact with sharp edges, kinks and tensile stresses so as not to damage the cable insulation!
19. Make a note of the codes for volatile memories (radio, navigation, etc.) and disconnect the battery before working on the vehicle's electrical system to connect the heating elements!
20. The heating temperature varies depending on the seat and cover material.
21. In the event of a failure, please check the fuse first!
22. When handing over to the customer, explain how it works and the safety aspects.

WARNINGS
Observe the safety instructions and requirements specified by the vehicle manufacturer and the automotive trade! The manufacturer accepts no liability for any damage in the following cases:
Installation or connection errors
Damage to the product caused by mechanical influences and overvoltage
Modifications to the product without the express permission of the manufacturer
Use for purposes other than those described in the instructions

CAUTION!
Always disconnect the negative terminal before working on the vehicle's electrical system due to the risk of short circuits. In vehicles with an auxiliary battery, you must also disconnect the negative terminal on this battery.

WARNING!
Inadequate cable connections can result in short circuits, which may cause
cable fires,
airbags to be deployed,
damage to electronic control units,
electrical functions to fail (indicators, brake lights, horn, ignition, lights).

WARNING!
Safety note: Failure to observe this warning may result in death or serious injury.

ATTENTION!
Failure to observe this may result in material damage and impair the function of the product.

NOTE
When working on the following cables, use only insulated cable lugs, plugs and flat plug sleeves: Terminal 15 (switched positive, behind battery)

Never use luster terminals or branch connectors (current thieves).
The safest type of connection is to solder the cable ends together and then insulate them. For detachable connections, use only insulated cable lugs, plugs and flat plug sleeves. Do not use crimp connectors (cable connectors) or luster terminals. Use crimping pliers to connect the cables.
For connections to line 31 (ground), screw the cable
- to a vehicle ground screw using a cable lug and lock washer, or
- to the body panel using a cable lug and sheet metal screw.
Always ensure a good ground connection!
